

From 11th-13th November, more than 100 athlete representatives from around the world gathered at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne (SUI), for the eighth edition of the IOC International Athletes’ Forum.

The IOC Safeguarding Toolkit, a step-by-step guide to the development of policies and procedures to safeguard athletes from harassment and abuse, was launched to the International Federations at the ASOIF Medical Workshop last week in Lausanne (SUI).

Every two years, FIS recognises the best efforts around the world to bring children to the snow with the SnowKidz Award. In 2018, the 5th edition of the Award will be presented at the FIS Congress in Costa Navarino (GRE).

Two FIS disciplines were on the calendar last weekend with Alpine and Snowboard big air scheduled in Levi (FIN) and Milan (ITA), respectively.

FIS was saddened to learn about the passing of David Poisson, 35, a member of the French Alpine Ski Team who died in a downhill training accident on 13th November 2017 at the Canadian resort of Nakiska.

Three times is a tradition. The Nordic Combined Awards go into their third season and also this year, some athletes can look forward to being honoured for their performances at the end of the season.




21 young athletes from 14 developing National Ski Associations* are currently participating in a 30-day training camp at the Stubai, Hintertux and Pitztal glaciers in Austria. Starting on 15th October 2017, excellent snow conditions have provided favourable training.
