

History was written in Spain today when French riders Nelly Moenne Loccoz and Chloe Trespeuch on the ladies' side and US men Hagen Kearney and Nick Baumgartner were crowned the first ever Team SBX World Champions at the Sierra Nevada 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships.

It was a golden day for the Swiss team as Loic Meillard and Camille Rast cruised to giant slalom and slalom gold respectively at the Junior Worlds in Åre (SWE).

It was another warm and sunny day here in Spain where the 4th snowboard day of the Sierra Nevada 2017 Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships brought the first real racing action to the main stage.

Mikaela Shiffrin locked up the 2017 slalom discipline title on Saturday with her second win in as many days at Squaw Valley (USA).

Laurie Blouin (CAN) and Seppe Smits (BEL) have claimed the first snowboard titles of the Sierra Nevada 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships coming out successful of the slopestyle finals this afternoon.


The Sierra Nevada 2017 Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships got off with a shot on Wednesday afternoon’s single moguls competition, where 2016/17 World Cup winner Britt Cox (AUS) continued her run of dominance this season with a gold medal performance on the ladies side, while 19-year-old Ikuma Horishima (JPN) shocked the world by charging to the men’s victory against some incredibly tough competition.

Sweden’s Stina Nilsson and Norway’s Erik Brandsdal have won the 14th edition of the Drammen sprints. Nilsson took the win in a time of 3:07.57. Finland’s Krista Parmakoski took second place +0.42 seconds behind. Hanna Falk of Sweden was third +1.26 back of Nilsson.

The FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup halfpipe finals went down in Tignes (FRA) on Tuesday, where, despite an incredible sequence of delays and drama, Cassie Sharpe (CAN) and Alex Ferreira (USA) took the final wins of the season, and Marie Martinod and Kevin Rolland gave the huge French crowd a reason to go wild by winning the 2016/17 halfpipe World Cup titles and crystal globes.
