Brignone earns first career super-G victory

It was a battle against nature today for the ladies’ Audi FIS World Cup super-G race in Grandvalira as the racers had to fight heavy snow and winds after waiting through a three-hour delay. In the end, Federica Brignone (ITA) came away with the victory, topping Laurenne Ross (USA) by 0.13 seconds.

The World Cup snowboard cross test event for the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games took place on Saturday at Korea’s Bokwang Phoenix Park resort, with Chloe Trespeuch (FRA) claiming her first World Cup win in the ladies’ event and Nate Holland (USA) returning to the top of the podium after a four-year dry spell in the men’s competition.
