

More than ten days after the FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships wrapped up in Kreischberg, Austria the Alpine Snowboard World Cup tour picked up pace again with the season's second parallel giant slalom event in Rogla, Slovenia today where Marion Kreiner (AUT) and Vic Wild (RUS) came out successfully of a star-studded field.

Daniela Iraschko-Stolz won her first home competition in Hinzenbach and took her third win in a row. With jumps on 93 m and 91.5 m and 251.4 points, the Austrian won ahead of Olympic Champion Carina Vogt, the third place went to Sara Takanashi.

It was the biggest night of their lives for several young athletes on the Freestyle World Cup tour, as Aliaksandra Ramanouskaya (BLR) lead a slate of ladies who claimed their first career World Cup podiums, and Mac Bohonnon (USA) took his first career win in aerials competition under the lights in tough weather conditions in Lake Placid on Friday night.

Just one week after the FIS Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships wrapped up at Kreischberg, the World Cup tour picks up speed again with a parallel giant slalom in Rogla scheduled for January 31st.

After nearly five years of preparation, less than a month now remains until the opening of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun on 18th February.
