

From 24th – 27th May the traditional spring FIS Calendar Conference is taking place in Portoroz, Slovenia where the FIS family will gather in the Grand Hotel Bernardin.

Two months after the successful FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti (FIN) closed, the Lahti 2017 Organising Committee presented the outcome of the event at the official debrief in Seefeld (AUT) on 11th May.

The application brings the total number of candidates for the 2022/2023 FIS World Championships to five, with two bids for the Alpine Events and two bids for the Nordic Disciplines. The Vikersund candidacy is one of two for Norway as Trondheim has submitted its application for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2023.



The Coordination Group for the Seefeld 2019 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships met directly following the Lahti 2017 debrief for its semi-annual meeting to review preparations for the Championships.

The FIS Snowboard World Cup season 2016717 has come to a close and with it, some athletes have announced they are stepping back from professional snowboarding.

After superstar Jason Lamy Chappuis made his comeback public last week, the French Ski Association has now also officially announced their teams for the upcoming Olympic season 2017/18


Norway's Tomas Northug has decided to end professional skiing career. "It's hard but but I made the decision and now I will see what the future holds," Tomas Northug said to NRK.
