Spring has arrived, signalling the completion of another successful FIS competition programme in the Northern Hemisphere.

Still at the top of her game, the slalom World Champion from Are 2007 Sarka Strachova announced in a video posted on her Facebook page that she is putting an end to her career as an active ski racer.

Calle Halfvarsson began the season in the best way including two World Cup victories before the New Year and possession of the yellow bib associated with leading in the overall World Cup standings.

The COC series has its old and new overall winner in 2016/17. Austrian Martin Fritz repeated his performance from last year and took the title with a point total of 687 points. 

Julia Pereira (FRA) and Adam Lambert (AUS) have claimed the 2016-17 snowboard cross Europa Cup title – two racers from different continents which shared some nice similarities last winter.

During a backcountry snowboard trip on Saturday, March 25, Olympic bronze medalist Mark McMorris sustained several injuries including a fractured jaw, fractured left arm, ruptured spleen, a stable pelvic fracture, rib fractures and a collapsed left lung, according to Canada Snowboard Team Physician, Doctor Rodney J. French.

And just like that, the 2016/17 FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup season is over after back-to-back big air competitions on Friday and Saturday in Norway’s Myrkdalen resort.

2014 Olympic champions Eva Samkova (CZE) and Pierre Vaultier (FRA) have claimed the 2016-17 season's SBX World Cup title after holding their main rivals for the Crystal Globe at bay in the tour's ultimate race's finals which were staged in perfect conditions on the high speed course of Veysonnaz.

Zoi Sadowski Synnott (NZL) and Chris Corning (USA) have triumphed in the 2016-17 season's slopestyle World Cup finale which was staged at the Snowjam.cz in Spindleruv Mlyn, Czech Republic today.
